Kind of surprised we are 3 point dogs at home to
Jacksonville State. I know they made the tourney last year but they lost some guys. Oh well hopefully Uic shoots better tonight.

I thought I saw I said to point favorites for today.

Obviously I want to win but hope to see improvement throughout the course of the year. I think one of the things that I often forget is that coach came in as a very defensive mated coach. There by no means means that we can’t run a very good and efficient offenses. However I don’t wanna see team scoring a ton on us like they have some time in the past. I want to see hustle on defense, working for rebounds, taking care of the ball, and working as a team. If we continue working on those things I think will be fine. I think that one of the things that the guys brought in this year all have understudy reports is that they are good offenders so let’s continue improvement in that area as well.

I hope we can one day get to the point where odds of winning games like this at home are better than a coin flip. At this point, it can probably go either way. But in the Valley we need to be winning these types of games easily. Otherwise we will be in the bottom 1/4 of conference every year. It’s a home game, and whether rebuilding, reloading, or whatever, wins in games like this are expected. We need to take care of business.

Hope to see some growth and continued production from the freshmen.

Sloppy half. Uic can’t shoot and turns it over too much.
The D is solid at least. Skobalj has been pretty bad this year.

This is the same crap we’ve seen from every UIC team from the past 20 years. Undisciplined, sloppy play. Tre Anderson is a senior and is not taking care of the ball. Bad passing, bad dribbling…just bad. Was happy to see Fens start but he missed another dunk. I’ve seen that a few times now. Lay it in if you can’t dunk it 99/100 times.

We should be up by 15+ right now. Any other Valley team would be. This stuff drives me crazy.

Saw we had a nice start with the exception of 5 turnovers in the first 5 minutes. Have 11 at halftime already.

Live Stats went out with 2:37 left in the first half and never came back. Caught the last 5 minutes on the UIC Radio station.

But no stats on ESPN either so yeah.

Nail-biter but we hold on. Monster 3-point shots by Brownell in the 2nd half. As with most UIC teams, our lack of somebody…anybody….to work in close near the basket and get us a shot within 8 feet or so is so hard to deal with. All we do is shoot long shots or hope a guard can break someone down. I’d like to see Coach recruit someone with a big body that we can feed and let work. Maybe Stevenson was that guy?

We went kind of cold near the end and let them back into it. Missed a couple FTs and they basically had a shot to tie hit every part of the rim and fall out. Narrow escape. We’ve got to clean up the sloppy play.
